What I Wasn't Taught In School

I am ever amazed at what little they actually teach in school, or at least how llittle I appreciated wat I was being taught. But this time it's different. This isn't some secret to making money, or a discipline of working with people, or even how to deal with showers in PE.

Nope this is something different, this is primary history that was simply missed in history class. It seems the history I was taught was carefully chosen not to conflict with the religious version of history so prevelant in this country. This history I speak of is the documented history of all religions, non biased, non emotional, and supported by the uncovering of relics throughout the world.

I am currently reading a book written in 1929 by H.G. Wells before he became popular for writing War of the Worlds. The book is the Outline of History, and documents the, then known ideas of the creation of the planet (surprisingly unchanged), and the growth of civilizations throughout time. So many things I held as difficult to unprove facts are not even an issue after reading this book.

For instance we all know the Noah story, but did you know that the Mediterranian sea was once dry and below sea level. About the time that Noah lived the Western Mountains gave way to the Atlantic and wore a crevace in the mountains flooding the region. Matter of Fact, Mt. Ararat where they believe that Noah landed is just east of the Mediterranian and logically where the flood would have naturally washed him. Furthermore, 200 years before any written testament of the bible is believed to be published the Babylonians had a story similar to Noah as well as other cultures.

The reason the Babylonians was important is WAY before Egypt had the Jews as slaves, the Babylonians enslaved Jews until they overthrew and destroyed Babylonia, another take on an interesting story. Where was this information in my Ancient History class.
